Solution

Issue: Unable to log in to the FortiGate unit CLI using the web-based manager Console Access window.

If encountering issues when accessing the FortiGate unit's CLI via the web-based manager Console Access, it may be due to the configuration of trusted hosts for administrators.

To resolve this problem, it is necessary to ensure that the local host (127.0.0.1) is added as a trusted host. Here's how to do it:

  1. Navigate to System -> Admin -> Administrators.

  2. Locate and select Edit for the specific administrator account desired to be modified.

  3. In the Trusted Host settings, add 127.0.0.1/32.

  4. Select OK to save the changes.

  5. If having multiple administrators with trusted hosts defined, repeat steps 2-4 for each one.

By following these steps, it should resolve the issue and successfully log in to the FortiGate unit CLI using the web-based manager Console Access.
