As a method to detect and prevent spam, dedicated Internet servers publish in an easily queried format (DNS) a list of IP addresses linked to spamming: DNSBL (DNS BlackList). MTAs (Mail Transport Agent) may be configured to query those DNSBL servers and reject or flag messages which have been sent from blacklisted IP addresses. Today, DNSBL queries are a popular technique to prevent spam. The attached document describes various methods of configuring the FortiMail unit for outgoing antispam filtering. |
