Description
This article may apply to customers that use Sprint SmartView software to connect to the Internet via a Sprint broadband USB then via VPN (FortiClient) to office based FortiGate.

When starting FortiClient software and connecting to the FortiGate via VPN, the connection works to the FortiGate Firewall, however the SmartView software will often disconnect.

If using Windows XP built in VPN connectivity to a Microsoft VPN server, SmartView works properly without disconnecting.
Solution
This is caused by the SmartView Settings.  Go to the hardware tab (refer to the attached SmartView user guide).

Check on "Include support for Other network connections".

When this box is checked, Sprint SmartView will monitor devices listed in the “Other Devices” group. When it detects that a device listed in this group has established a connection, it can respond by shutting down its own connections.

This is the only change needed to complete this scenario.
