Description

This article explains how to obtain the FortiClientManager API debug log when troubleshooting deployment issues from FortiManager to FortiClient.

1. On a FortiClient PC, shutdown the FortiClient program.

2. At the command prompt, type 'net stop fortishield' (to stop the FortiShield that is protecting the Windows registry values).

3. Modify the registry value to start FCM API debug mode.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Fortinet\FortiClient\FA_Scheduler\000012\cmd change "FCMgr.exe" to "FCMgr.exe -d 1"

4. Restart the FortiClient program.

5. On the FortiManager, deploy configuration from the FortiClientManager to FortiClient.

6. A log file "fcm_api.log" will be created in C:\ directory of the FortiClient PC.

7. When completed, remember to change the registry value back to "FCMgr.exe".
