Description

This article explains how to set the manual switch port settings on FortiGate models which are equipped with an internal switch port architecture.

Scope

All FortiOS versions used on FortiWiFi 60B, FortiGate 60B, FortiGate 100A (Rev2.0 and higher), and FortiGate 200A (Rev2.0 and higher).

To check if a FortiGate model has an internal switch use the following commands:
FGT60C # config system global

FGT60C (global) # get | grep internal
internal-switch-mode: switch
internal-switch-speed:

Solution

The syntax on the CLI to manually configure the internal switch port settings is as follows:
Chi60B # conf sys global

Chi60B (global) # set internal-switch-speed
100full 100M Full
100half 100M half
10full 10M Full
10half 10M half
auto auto
The following CLI can be used to configure the internal switch port speed on a FortiWiFi 60B, FortiGate 60B, FortiGate 100A (Rev2.0 and higher), or FortiGate 200A (Rev2.0 and higher) models.  This will set all internal switch ports to 100full internal-switch-speed:
set internal-switch-speed 100full 100full 100full 100full 100full 100full
The following CLI command will configure only port1 to 100full internal-switch-speed, all the other internal ports will remain as "auto" by default:
set internal-switch-speed 100full
