Description

This article provides a list of the HA events that will trigger a FortiMail to send alert email.

Scope
FortiMail HA.
Solution
The following HA event types would trigger the FortiMail to send alert email:

1. Unit moves to MASTER.

2. Unit moves to SLAVE.

3. Unit moves to OFF.  This means that the system has shutdown the HA related process and effectively turn into standalone state.

4. Unit moves to FAILED.  This means that the active system enters failed state and the standby system is suppose to take over. The failed system may recover (enter master or slave) or enter OFF state.

5. Unit moves to HOLD OFF.  This means that the system has shutdown the HA related process temporarily. Usually this happens when the master upgrades the firmware.

6. SLAVE heartbeat disappeared.

7. Local problem detected, asking SLAVE to take over.
