In this example the settings are as follows:
a.Trap Type: CPU usage
b.Trigger 80%
c.Threshold 3
d.Sample Period 600 sec
e.Sample Frequency 30 sec

1.The FortiMail will check cpu usage every "sample frequency".

In this example, the FortiMail checks cpu usage every 30 seconds. If the cpu usage is over 80%, the FortiMail will consider it as detecting a trigger.

2.When the total number of detected triggers is over the threshold, the FortiMail will wait until the "sample period" expires.

In this example, when the total number of detected triggers is over 3, the FortiMail will wait for 600 seconds.

3. When the sample period expires, the FortiMail generates a SNMP trap.

In this example, after 600 seconds, a SNMP trap which indicate that cpu usage is over 80% is generated.
