This KB article shows how to enable the Transparent Mode on FortiGate 20C and FortiGate 30D, using the FortiGate CLI (Command Line Interface) in FortiOS firmware version 5.0 Patch 6.
Scope
Switching the FortiGate unit from routed to transparent mode.
Solution
To configure transparent mode, please use these CLI commands:
FGT30D # config system settings
FGT30D (settings) # set opmode transparent
FGT30D (settings) # set manageip 172.20.30.1/24
FGT30D (settings) # set Gateway 172.20.30.254
FGT30D (settings) # end
Changing to TP mode.
