Description

This article provides an explanation of the error message “FortiSslvpn: 1536: failed to add a route for ac1e0500:ffffff00, error code:5010” or similar error code.

Scope

FortiClient

Solution

This error is triggered when the FortiClient is asked by the FortiGate to add several times the same route to the routing table.

This means that there are multiple split-tunnelling groups associated with the related firewall policy.

In the related Firewall policy, there are groups in the destination field in order to specify which networks will be advertised by the FortiGate to the FortiClient.  The error is triggered when the same network is present in different groups associated with the firewall policy destination field.

The solution to resolve this error message is to rearrange the groups in the destination field so that each network appears only once.
