Description

Upon receiving a replacement FortiGate unit after a RMA exchange, it may be necessary to Reset all FortiTokens associated with the old (defective) RMA unit. This effectively deactivates all FortiTokens associated with that FortiGate serial number, allowing them to be reassigned to a different FortiGate.

Solution

Steps

Upon receiving a replacement FortiGate unit, perform a RMA Transfer on the Support Portal by choosing the serial number of the defective unit that needs to be replaced under Asset > Manage/View Products, then select Registration > RMA Transfer.

If the FortiGate has activated FortiTokens associated with it, the option "Reset all FortiToken FTK200 tokens currently registered to this device" should be selected.  Enable this option if it is not selected by default.

Fill in the form with the new FortiGate serial number and proceed with the remaining portion of the RMA transfer.

Once completed, all FortiTokens associated with the old FortiGate will return to a "Non-activated" state. They can now be deployed on a different FortiGate.

Alternatively the action of resetting all FortiTokens can be performed under Information > General. The "Reset FortiToken" button will appear if there are associated FortiTokens.

The Support Portal does not currently offer the option to reset an individual FortiToken by selecting its serial number.
