SolutionSteps to configure guest user accounts on the controller to use with Captive Portal. CONFIGURATION STEPS:
GUI Steps:
STEP 1: Click on “Configuration >> Security >>(Guest Users).
STEP 2: Click the Add button for creating guest user accounts.
STEP 3:
Enter guest username, password, service start time and service end time
for this particular guest account. Click OK. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for
configuring more accounts.
CLI Steps:
STEP 1: Type “configure terminal”
STEP 2: Type <guest-user username password "start-date start-time" "end-date end-time”
, where username is the username for the guest account, password is the
password for this account, start-date/end-date is in the format
mm/dd/yyyy and start-time/end-time is in the format hh:mm:ss
STEP 3: Press Enter to save configuration and return to privileged exec mode.
TEST RESULTS: The guest username must be between 1-64 characters.
LIMITATIONS IF ANY: A maximum of 32 guest user accounts can be configured on the controller.
