Meru Technical Note - Why is IDM server prompting that the controller isn't passing a valid IP address, and disables the Location functionality as a result?

Description

User has IDM and is trying to use the "Location" ability in authorization profiles. The IDM server responds that the controller is not passing a valid IP address, and the location functionality is being disabled as a result.

Solution

The Meru controller does not send the user's IP address. It sends its MAC address, so basically this feature does not work with the Meru controller.
This will not work with SNMP too because for Location Enforcement we need the IP address in the RADIUS Access-Request.
