Upgrading from 3.2.5-71 to 3.3-146 Power Setting Change May Cause Radio Config Loss.
This problem is caused by the fact the default AP power
settings of the AP radio for the US country code have been
changed.
It has
been observed that when upgrading from 3.1.X, 3.2.X, to version 3.3-146
you may lose your radio configuration settings.
This problem is caused by the fact the default AP power settings of the AP radio for the US country code have changed from 21,21,21 to new default values of 20,20,20. If the power settings on the AP radio interface are the old default values of 21,21,21 at upgrade time, that AP radio interface’s non-default settings will be changed from their previous value to default settings (e.g. if the AP radio was configured to use channel 11, it will now use channel 6).
It is recommended all your customers planning to upgrade to version 3.3-146 first change the default values of the radio prior to the upgrade.
To lower the power lever prior to the upgrade please use the following procedures
Reconfigure via CLI
33146-1100# configure terminal
33146-1100(config)# interface Dot11Radio 1 1
33146-1100(config-if-802)# power local 20,20,20
33146-1100(config-if-802)# exit
33146-1100(config)# exit
33146-1100#
Reconfigure via GUI
From the GUI select the one AP and double click on Bulk Update.
Once in the Bulk Update selection select/check Transmit Power enter the value 20,20,20 in the config box and click ok. Depending on how many AP you have this may take some time to complete
Under the WLan setting select Wireless Interfaces select the AP associated with A/B radio and View Details you will get the screen displayed above note the Transmit Power setting change.
