QUESTION: Vocera badge users cannot communicate with group of users

ANSWER: Vocera badge users are able to make one to one calls by saying
“Call <user's name>”, but unable to call the group of users by saying “Call <Group's name>”.

Multicast must be turned ON in order to allow multicast traffic to pass through. This would enable single user to communicate with group of users.

GUI:

Click ok “Configuration” > “ESS” > “Allow Multicast Flag” > On

CLI:

meru# configure terminal

meru(config)# essid <essid_name>

meru(config-essid)# multicast-enable

RESOLUTION: Multicast must be turned ON to allow group of users to communicate.

ROOT CAUSE: Multicast was turned off which did not allow the multicast traffic to pass through
