Description
When using FortiVoice Management Software 7.31.004 and trying to connect to the system, it reports as having firmware 7.31.00X and needs to update to 7.31.004.

In selecting to update the systems reports, it shows as the latest version already and the update fails. If the action is  cancelled the system settings will not load.

If this, or a similar scenario is encountered, and if a connection cannot be established, and the software is showing 7.31.004, then the system may have this older version suck in one of two memory banks.

In attempting to start the update, the system reports that the version is the same in the other slot when it tries to upload it.

Solution
The workaround to resolve this issue is to download the software version 7.31.003 from the Support Portal to another computer on the network.

Once it is installed, let it connect, and update (in this case, downgrade to 7.31.003) from the original computer, connect, and let the software update again from 7.31.003 to 004.

When the update has finished, 7.31.003 can be removed from the other computer as well.

The system now has 7.31.004 and 7.31.003 in the two internal slots created for a fail-over firmware.
