Solution
 To setup the MTU size on AP, please use the following command:

sys exec ifconfig <interface name> mtu <mtu size> up

Please note that this value will be set to default if the AP is rebooted. If the MTU size needs to be setup permanently on the AP, then this can be used in the bootscript.
