Description
This article explains how to perform a loopback test to verify the function of the FXS & FXO ports.  This can be a useful test when there is no or only one way audio, choppy communications, static, or no incoming calls.

Solution
1)  Plug an RJ11 cable (analog phone cord) from port 'Ext1' to port 'Line1' to simulate a phone line as shown below.

2)  Configure an analog extension.

3)  The call will be handled on line 1.

4)  Create an inbound call handling pointing to an auto attendant.

5)  During the inbound call,  attempt to duplicate the reported issue.  This test simulates an inbound call through the system, and will be handled like an incoming call into the appropriate line and extension port of the phone system.

6)  If this line or extensions works correctly, continue testing the other ports.  Disconnect the cable from 'Line1' and plug into 'Line2', then repeat steps 1 to 5.  Continue with the other 'LINE' or 'EXT' ports until all of them have been tested.  Make note of the line quality and function.

7)  Make sure that the correct line was selected from 'Trunk' before placing test calls.
