This article explains how to configure FortiVoice with AT&T Pace Model NV5031NV Modem/Router/Wireless Residential Gateway.

Solution
AT&T recommends
the following configuration to make their Pace Model 5031NV
modem/router/wireless “residential gateway” work
with the FortiVoice system. This involves using a public,
static IP address for the FortiVoice PBX and making a simple
configuration of the IP Address Allocation table on the
router. This is a basic way of invoking the DMZ+ feature of
the AT&T/Pace router. This mode opens all ports of the
FortiVoice to public IP traffic and it avoids problems with SIP ALG
issues which can lead to one-way, simplex telephone
connections.
Call up AT&T Technical Support (1-877-503-2622) and order a block of 8 static IP addresses. Have your uVerse account number and PIN/password ready. This will cost $15/mo (December 2016). Five numbers of the block are usable IP addresses. The other three are used for “router, network and broadcast” according to AT&T.
One of these public IP addresses should be assigned to your Fortinet PBX system using the IP Configuration/System IP Settings field. AT&T will give you the default gateway, subnet mask and DNS settings as well. Use the same static public IP address in the “Public IP Address” field:
Enter these values into the IP Configuration and select File > Save.
Go to the AT&T router configuration and proceed to the Settings/LAN/IP Address Allocation page:
Scroll down and find the Fortinet PBX. This may be called Talkswitch-1. Set the Firewall to “Disabled,” the Address Assignment to “Static IP-No DHCP” and the WAN IP Mapping to “Public Fixed: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx” where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the static IP address of the FortiVoice PBX that was set above.
Scroll down to the bottom of this page and Save.
Now check the firewall in the FortiVoice IP Configuration screen
This test shows that all the FortiVoice ports are working to process VoIP. Reboot the router and reboot the FortiVoice PBX.
Do not forget to change your IP address/telephone number routing with your SIP trunking provider so that the static IP address that has now been assigned to the FortiVoice PBX is associated with your VoIP telephone number.
Note: Another way to configure the AT&T/Pace router for VoIP is to manually configure the router firewall for the FortiVoice ports. This is somewhat time-consuming and may end up being unreliable since there is no way to explicitly disable SIP ALG on this router. This is why AT&T recommends the static IP address method.
