Article Id 196710
Purpose
Most of the FortiMail units are not provided HQIP images currently.
This article will help you to diagnose harddisk issues.

Scope
- All FortiMail devices
- Keywords: smart , S.M.A.R.T, disk, hard drive, hard disk, attributes

Expectations, Requirements
Fortinet RMA service should be made aware of the "ATA Error Count:" even if the SMART analysis passed inspection

Troubleshooting

When a FortiMail fails or becomes unresponsive, note the time and date of the event and run the command diagnose system disk errors

It might be a hardware issue and therefore you will need to create an RMA ticket if the command result shows "The SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED"
and no flags on "WHEN_FAILED", check if the "ATA Error Count: " for recent errors
