Technical Note: 'VM infra check failed for product' error when importing VM license

Description

This article provides an explanation for the error "VM infra check failed for product" that may be seen when importing a VM license.

Scope

VM controller, v8.2 and above.

Solution

While importing permanent license on a VM controller, if the following error is seen in the GUI while importing the license, then check the VM configuration/requirements.

“VM infra check failed for product”

As an example, if running a FWLC-50D-VM and an attempt is made to import a license for a FWLC-200-D VM, this error may be seen if the VM configuration is incorrect.  For the FWLC-200D, a  minimum of 8GB RAM, 4 CPU, and 16GB disk space is required.  If any of these requirements are not met, this error would be seen.
