Description

This article describes how to Setup SNMP Between FortiNAC and Network Monitoring Devices

Scope

Version: FortiNAC versions 8 and 9

Solution

Version: FortiNAC versions 8 and 9

FortiNAC can be configured to respond to SNMP communication from other devices such as network monitoring equipment (e.g. Solarwinds).

SNMP MIBs used to communicate with FortiNAC are in:
/bsc/campusMgr/ui/runTime/docs/mibs/

A link to view/download the latest version of the SNMP MIB is available in the Online Help under the topic SNMP.

Instructions:

1.  Click System > Settings.
2.  Expand the System Communication folder.
3.  Select SNMP from the tree.
4.  Click Enable and select an SNMP protocol.
5.  Enter the parameters as required for the selected protocol. (Note: Although Privacy Protocols AES-192 and AES-256 are listed as options in FortiNAC versions 8.1 and lower, they are not supported).
6.  Click Save Settings.

IP addresses of any devices that have communicated with FortiNAC through SNMP will be populated automatically in the IP box under Management Hosts.
