Enable Host Inventory Management

DESCRIPTION:
Create a portal page for users to manage hosts that are registered to their account

PROCEDURE:
To create a Bradford Portal for “Host Inventory Management”

Steps:
1. System > Portal Configuration
2. Bottom Left Click the “Copy” button to make a portal copy of you Default
3. Name the portal “NamePortalHere” (will use the portal name in the URL) leave 2 checks boxes unchecked
4. Select the Portal “NamePortalHere” from the portal option menu (lower left). This selects the portal NamePortalHere for editing.
5. Open Global select Settings and change Success Page Type to Host Inventory
6. Open Registration and select
     a. Common and change Context Title to Host Inventory
     b. Standard User Login and update the content fields to be Host Inventory centric.
     c. Standard User Login Form and check both the Username and Password Field Enabled buttons and make these required input fields.
7. (v7.2.1.120+ only) Expand Host Inventory > Controls, and change the Log Out URL to the following: /registration/ValidUserLogin.jsp?portalName=Inventory
8. Apply the changes


To access the Host Inventory portal:
http://<application server hostname>/registration/ValidUserLogin.jsp?portalName=NamePortalHere
https://<application server hostname>/registration/ValidUserLogin.jsp?portalName=NamePortalHere

NamePortalHere is the name of the portal built for Host Inventory in step 3 above

When you browse to this portal, you will be presented with the content from step 6 above. Putting in credentials will present the user their existing host inventory. There will be options to add the local device user is connecting from if unregistered, or additional devices by IP or MAC address. Also have the option to remove devices.

This method of using a portal specific to host inventory does not change how the current captive portal(s) operate.
