Description

A wireless client connects to a managed SSID and (via Network Access Policy) is assigned the correct VLAN.  However, the wireless host shows offline in the Administrative UI (even though the controller lists the client as connected to the correct VLAN).

Scope

Version: All

Solution

This behavior can occur if the assigned VLAN is not listed within the database as one of the VLANs configured in the controller.  To confirm what VLANs are listed for that controller, do the following:

Navigate to Network > Inventory.

Highlight the controller.
' Right click' and select Model Configuration.
Select the drill-down listing the VLANs on one of the states (do not change it).

If the VLAN is missing from the list, update the database with the current VLANs configured on the controller.  This process should be done each time a VLAN or SSID is added or removed from the controller:
From the controller's Model Configuration, click Read Roles or Read VLANs.
