Description
Most Uplinks Do Not Clear Automatically

Scope
Version: Network Sentry 7 & 8
Solution
Version: Network Sentry 7 & 8

Uplinks disable management of the port, meaning all hosts read on this port are ignored.  Any host connected to an Uplink port will not change VLANs.

With the exception of a WAP Uplink, once a port is defined as an Uplink, the Uplink Mode will not change unless cleared manually.

To clear current Uplink Mode:
1.  Navigate to Network Devices > Topology
2.  Select the switch in question.
3.  Under the Ports tab, highlight the port.
4.  Right click and check the Clear box next to Uplink mode.
5.  Click OK.

For more information on uplink types, refer to the topic "Port Uplink Types" in the Administrative UI Online Help.
