Description
Meraki CoA Issue Causing VLAN Re-Assignment Problems

Solution
Date: 7.07.2016

As of fall 2015, Meraki started utilizing RADIUS CoA for disconnecting clients.  In turn, Network Sentry version 8.0.0 added RADIUS Disconnect support for the Meraki AP's.

Issue: A behavior has been discovered where Meraki's RADIUS CoA disconnect function is not working consistently.  When Network Sentry sends a disconnect request in an attempt to change VLANs, the APs respond with an acknowledgement, but the disconnect does not always occur.  Consequently, after successful registration, the host may show offline in Network Sentry and not move VLANs.

Workaround:  Have the client disconnect from the wireless then re-connect.

Solution:  Meraki has identified the issue to be AP code related, and is working on a fix.
