Description
Conditions That Change Port Connection State to Multiple Hosts

Scope
Versions:   All
Solution
Versions:  All

The Connection State changes to Multiple Hosts when more than one MAC address is detected off a managed switch port.  This includes IP Phones.  The threshold used to define the Multiple Hosts Connection State cannot be changed.

Example: An IP Phone connects to a port.  Port shows IP Phone icon in Port View until a computer connects behind the IP Phone.  That which point, the icon changes to a cloud (indicating Multiple Hosts).

Once the number of MAC addresses on the port exceeds the System Defined Uplink count, the Connection State changes to Threshold Uplink.
