Issue:  Port connecting to a network device (such as a switch) is not being recognized as an uplink port in Topology.

Under the System -> Settings -> Network Device view, there is a System Defined Uplink Count field.  When the number of MAC addresses on a port exceeds this value, the port is changed to an uplink automatically.

If the number of MAC Addresses on a port does not exceed this value, the uplink may need to be configured manually if there is known network infrastructure connected to the port.

Solution:  Manually define the port as Uplink.  This will disable management of the port, meaning access is no longer controlled and Network Sentry should not attempt to manipulate the configuration in any way.

1. Navigate to Network Devices -> Topology View and locate the switch.
2. Right-click on the switch port that the known network infrastructure is connected to and select Port Properties.
3. Set the Uplink Mode to Always Uplink and click OK.
