Description
When a new Kindle product is first powered up, it needs to contact www.amazon.com in order to register the device with Amazon.  Until the device registers with Amazon, it will not complete booting.  If the device boots up for the first time on a network enforced by NAC, the host will be seen as a rogue and isolated.  Since it is not recommended to add amazon.com to the Allowed Domains list, the Kindle won't be able to register.

Solution
  1. Power up the Kindle.
  2. Select the appropriate wireless network.
  3. An error will appear stating the device cannot register.
  4. Select the option Complete Setup Later.
  5. Click OK to confirm.
  6. Once powered up, click Settings.
  7. Click Wireless.
  8. Click Wi-Fi.
  9. Record the Wi-Fi MAC Address.
  10. Using one of the below methods, register the device to obtain production network access:
  • Register as a gaming device via the Gaming Device Registration page.  For instructions on registering a gaming device, refer to the cookbook.
  • Manually register the device.
