Administrative UI Does Not Display 802.1x RADIUS Assigned VLAN for Wired

Solution

Symptom:  When using 802.1x authentication on wired switches, Topology, Connection Details and Adapter view do not display the current VLAN value after the first disconnect.  They remain blank.

Most of the switches Network Sentry supports for RADIUS use MAC-based VLAN assignment (as opposed to port-based). Therefore, there is no single VLAN per port, but rather a VLAN per session.  In these situations, the VLAN is stored with the client record rather than the switch port.  Currently the client-based VLAN is not shown in the Network Sentry Administrative UI.

Workaround:  There is no workaround.
