Proper Shutdown Options for VM

Solution

From the VM Server

Power off using the VM server

From the Administrative UI

1. Navigate to System > Settings > Power Management

2. Select the appropriate server and click Shut Down. If a control server/Application Server pair, either shut down the Application Server first, or both at the same time.

From CLI (SSH or Console)

Type one of the following commands:
shutdown now
halt -p
