Description
Ruckus SmartZone Wireless Clients Not Matching the Correct Location Based Policy

Scope
Version:  Network Sentry 8
Solution
Version:  Network Sentry 8

Issue:  Wireless clients connecting to SmartZone are not matching the correct location-based policies (such as Endpoint Compliance or Network Access).

Unlike other wireless integrations, Network Sentry uses the WLAN Name instead of the SSID when modeling.  In the case of the SmartZone, the WLAN is more granular than the SSID.  (Note: the WLAN still appears as a SSID in the SmartZone model in Topology).

Under the current configuration, the SmartZone transmits the SSID name in the RADIUS packet (not the WLAN name).  If the WLAN Name does not match the SSID name exactly, any location based policies will fail to match correctly for clients connecting to that particular SSID.

Solution:  Under WLAN Config in Ruckus admin UI, ensure the WLAN Name matches the SSID name exactly.  As of this writing, it was found under the General Options section.

Example:

Correct
WLAN Name: testguestcps
SSID: testguestcps

Incorrect
WLAN Name: TestGuestcps
SSID: testguestcps
