Description
Database Archive and Purge' Fails After Running April 2017 OS Update for CentOS 7

Scope
Version:   Operating System updates performed on the Network Sentry appliance for CentOS 7 between May 4th and June 12th.
Solution
Version:  Operating System updates performed on the Network Sentry appliance for CentOS 7 between May 4th and June 12th.

Issue:  The Operating System Update installed a new version of mysql which requires an additional configuration setting.  Without that configuration, the “Database Archive and Purge” task in System > Scheduler view will not purge and archive Event, Connection, and Alarm records.  This behavior can eventually lead to disk space issues.

Workaround:  Contact Bradford Support so a non-service effecting fix can be installed.

Solution:  Addressed in Network Sentry 8.1.3 and above.
