Description
Network Sentry No Longer Requires Radius Validation Account (PAP)

Scope
Version: Network Sentry version 8.1.2 and higher
Solution
Version: Network Sentry version 8.1.2 and higher

In the Network Sentry Radius settings (System > Settings > Radius), there is a Validation Account.  The account is used to ensure RADIUS connectivity using Password Authentication Protocol (PAP).  It is only used if there are multiple, redundant RADIUS servers.

Up until version 8.1.2 of Network Sentry, this Validation Account was required. The requirement of this account made it so that the administrator had to create an account on the Radius Server for use by Network Sentry for communication. The encryption method must be set to PAP.

In Network Sentry versions 8.1.2 and newer, the Authentication Account is no longer required.
