Description

 

When attempting to add a new device in Topology/Inventory, the follow message displays:
"Failed to perform SNMP connect. Please verify credentials and try again."

This means the SNMP device communication is not completing.

Solution


1.  Verify the device can be pinged consistently from the appliance CLI.  Login and type

ping <ip address>

2.  Type Ctrl-C to stop.

3.  Verify credentials and attempt to re-discover the device.  Ensure there are no typos or extra spaces.
