Description

This article describes the Auto-Definition update feature, and how to configure and troubleshoot.

The auto-Definition updates feature contains support for the following:

- Support for new versions of Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware.

An updated file is posted every Monday. If Monday is a holiday, the update is posted on the next business day.

For customers who prefer to download updates on a delayed schedule, the current update plus updates from the previous three weeks are maintained.

Solution

v9.4

2) Run the Auto-Definition Synchronizer.

Navigate to System -> Scheduler.

Select the Auto-Definition Synchronizer task and select Run Now.

The date displayed should be the last posting as defined by the Directory field in the Auto-Definitions settings.

Example:

./week1 = Download updates that are one week old.
./week2 = Download updates that are two weeks old.
./week3 = Download updates that are three weeks old.
./week4 = Download updates that are four weeks old.

4) If the Last Modified Date column did not update, confirm a success is displayed when selecting the 'Test' button in the System Settings view.

If testing fails, check the following:

- User and Password fields are populated.  See KB article 256338

- The directory Hostname is correct.  See KB article 211622

- Protocol.

- Confirm appliance traffic is not being blocked by a firewall.
