Description

This articles describes how to prevent a failover in a High Availability configuration during a maintenance window.

Solution

To prevent the appliance from failing over in a High Availability configuration during a maintenance window where the Primary and Secondary servers may lose connectivity with each other, complete the following steps on the Primary Control Server only:

1) Login as root.

2) Stop the Network Sentry Services. If a Control Server/Application Server pair, this will stop services on both Primary appliances.
shutdownNAC

In this state, the secondary servers will not take control.

3) Once the maintenance is complete, start the processes again by typing
startupNAC

If a Control Server/Application Server pair, this will start services on both Primary appliances.
