Description
This article describes How to identify network sentry product and appliance type.

Solution
There are two ways to view the product and appliance Type of the FortiNAC appliance:
•    Administrative UI
•    CLI

1) Administrative UI.

- Navigate to the Dashboard.
- If the Summary panel is not visible, select 'Add Panel' in 'Summary'.
In the Summary panel, 'Product' (Product type) and 'Appliance' (Appliance type) are listed.

Example of an older unit, FortiNAC was named 'Network Sentry' prior version 8.3:
Status: Running
Product: Network Sentry Server
Version: 8.0
Appliance: VM-NS500CA
Firmware: 6.0.6.86
Dashboard example of a hardware unit with 8.8.0.1704 running on it.





2) CLI.

Login to CLI and observe the login banner. Alternatively, type the following command:
