Description
Device Profiling Rules Taking Longer than Expected with IP Range and Active (NMAP) Methods

Scope
Version:   Network Sentry 8.1.4 and below
Solution
Version:  Network Sentry 8.1.4 and below

Issue:  In Device Profiling Rules where both the IP Range and Active (NMAP) methods are used, Network Sentry was not always evaluating using the IP Range method first.  This caused a lot of unnecessary NMAP scans, causing an increase in the time it took to complete evaluation.

Solution:  Addressed in Network Sentry version 8.1.5 and higher.
