SNMPv3 Communication Issues with Network Sentry 8.1

Version: Network Sentry 8.1.x

Issue: Network Sentry can fail to communicate properly with devices using SNMP v3. This can prevent any of the following functions from working as expected:

Credential Validation
L2/L3 Polling
Reading VLANs
Changing VLANs

The behavior was reported to affect Avaya switch communication. It is due to issues with the version of SNMP stack used in Network Sentry 8.1. Other vendors may be affected.

Solution: Customers using SNMP v3 that are experiencing these issues should upgrade to Network Sentry version 8.2.
