Description
This article explains how to configure a management interface on a FortiWeb HA backup unit to send network management traffic e.g. SNMP TRAPS and SYSLOG.

Scope
FortiWeb backup unit network management interface

Solution

For basic management access to the backup FortiWeb unit using the GUI or CLI to configure management traffic SNMP traps, SNMP polling or to generate Syslog traffic

- Enable "Management Interface Reservation" under HA configuration.

- Configure the Interface : Port3 this will use the IP address of Port3 for the backup management IP

- Configure the Gateway address : 10.10.10.1 - this is needed as management interface access will not use any routing configure in the main FortiWeb configuration

- SNMP/SYSLOG traffic is not routable,  the subnet for the network management servers need to be on the same subnet as the management Interface.

Update:
=======

Starting version 6.1, HA mgmt static route option has been added, with this new option SNMP/SYSLOG server in different subnet can also be reached from HA mgmt interface.
