Description
DHCP option 224 can be used by FortiClient to determine on-net/off-net status.

A FortiGate will automatically include this option when used as a DHCP server.

This article describes how to configure DHCP option 224 when using a Windows Server to handle DHCP.

Solution
  1. Open DHCP settings and right click IPv4 > Set Predefined Options...

  2.  Check the "Option Name" drop-down for option 224.  If it does not exist, select Add... and then fill out the window.  The name and description may have any value but Code must be set to 224.
