Description
This article describes when the following error message is seen on Alert Message Console of FortiGate: Power supply 1 or 2 failure
Solution
This error is found on FortiGate units which support redundant power supplies (RPS), the error will be shown in the Alert Message Console as follows:
Note : If the unit is not installed with a RPS, the message is a false alarm.
If the unit has RPS installed, it is recommended to contact Fortinet support as there may be issues with the unit. Include the output of the following commands when opening a ticket with Fortinet support:
# exec sensor list
# exec sensor detail# diag hard deviceinfo psu
Reseat power supply. If hot swappable, reseat while power is ON.
If not, shut down the unit and reseat the power supply. Change power cord and check wall outlet. Check the LED if it turns green.
If still red, collect output using the above specified commands and create a ticket from FortiCare.
