Description
This article describes how to fix the following issue: When a PC is trying to join domain for an event to be generated in the domain controller which will be used for both DC agent and collector agent polling to it to get the user logon information.
When a PC trying to join a domain, the following error message “Changing the Primary Domain DNS name of this computer to "" failed" is shown.

Solution
Solution 1:
Make sure the port UDP/139 is open between the PC and the domain controller.

Solution 2:
1) In the Windows start, type run and then type in the command #ncpa.cpl to go to the Network Connections.
Right click the Local Area Connection and select Properties of the adapter that is joining the AD domain.

2) Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.

3) In the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’s Properties menu, click on Advanced
Select WINS tab to make sure the option Default or the option Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP  is checked.
Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP is only for those PC that configured with static IP addressing or the DHCP server that does not provide NetBIOS setting in their DHCP offer.
