Description
This article provides steps to generate and analyzing local reports.


Solution
FortiGate devices, which are having disk storage, can generate local reports.
The FortiGate local report has a default template and creating custom reports are not supported.

To verify the disk storage status execute the below command:

# get sys status
If log hard disk status is available then follow below steps to enable the feature.

On GUI:


Go to FortiGate -> System -> Feature Visibility
Enable Local Reports and 'Apply'


To generate reports, go to:

FortiGate -> Logs and Reports -> Local Reports
Generate now.



The reports can be scheduled at required times.

Email report option is available in Logs and Reports -> Local Reports -> Report Schedule -> Email Report



Note: Email Report option is available only if email server and alert mail are
configured.

Local Report contents and analyzing:

To get the reports with all the details, use respective UTM in the policy.

Example: If logs regarding websites are required then webfilter should be enabled in the IPv4 policy.

- Web Usage
- Emails
- Threats
- VPN Usage
- Admin Login and System Events

FortiGate local reports are not customizable and can be scheduled for daily or weekly reports only.
