Description
This article describes the differences between resetting the password for user 'root' account for CLI and GUI login in FortiNAC.

Solution
The CLI and the GUI’s user 'root' password are different and the places to reset the password are also different.

1) CLI password change:

Go to URL https://<eth0 IP Address>:8443/configWizard and modify the password.
This only performs the change for the CLI backend system login and not for the GUI login.

The default CLI login user is 'root' with the following login credential:
User Name = root
Password = Undisclosed (Default can be changed during initial setup with ConfigWizard).

2) GUI password change:

Log to the GUI system and go to Users -> Admin Users, click on the user and then reset the Password.

The default GUI login user is 'root' with the following login credential:
User Name = root
Password = YAMS
