Description
This article describes different methods to promote the role of subordinate to primary in a HA cluster.
It is recommended to read first the 'Primary unit selection' chapter from 'FortiOS Handbook: High Availability'.
Solution
1) Use the following command from CLI:
# config system ha
set priority 250 <change the priority to be higher than the other unit>
set override enable
end |
or
2) Reset the uptime of the master device, while the override is disabled
|
# config system ha
set override disable
end
# diag sys ha reset-uptime
|
or
3) Disconnect the cable from the interface which is being monitored on the primary.
