Description


CLI credential validation fails for Arista switches configured to require typing "enable" to enter enable mode, but no password is needed.
Scope


Version: 8.x

Solution

Workaround:
1.  Configure switch to require enable password.
2.  Click on the Credentials tab for the affected Arista switch model.
3.  Under CLI Settings, populate the Enable Password field with the new password.
4.  Click Validate Credentials to verify CLI access now completes.
5.  Click Save.

 To be addressed in version 8.7.2.
1.  Upgrade appliance to version 8.7.2 or higher.
2.  Once upgraded, click on the Credentials tab for the affected Arista switch model.
3.  Under CLI Settings, populate the Enable Password field with the # character.
4.  Click Validate Credentials to verify CLI access now completes.
5.  Click Save.
