Description This article describes how to find the serial number of FortiAP’s connected to the Meru/FortiWLC.
Solution 1) Collect the controller diagnostics :
Go to Maintenance -> Diagnostics, under 'Collect Diagnostics' select 'Controller Diagnostics' (not System Diagnostics) and select 'Collect Diagnostics'.
2) Extract the diagnostics by navigating to wlan -> Ioscli>>ioscli_-c_show_ap_${array[i]}.txt.
In this output, fetch the 'FortiAP hardware serial number'.
3) Alternatively, login into the FortiAP from CLI:
Controller (15)# conn ap <ap id>
ap 1> boarddata display
In this output, see the AP details along with Hardware serial number.
Note: Only the serial numbers of the 'Enabled Online' FortiAps are visible.
