Description
The Guest Self-Registration page of the captive portal can be configured to automatically lookup the name entered by a user in the Sponsor field.  If the sponsor's name is found in the specified group of the directory, the auto-fill feature displays matching searches' full name and email address.

This article provides the configuration steps for this auto-fill feature.

Scope
Version: 8.5.3 and higher

Solution
In order to locate the user, the group name specified in the Sponsor LDAP Group field is searched. 

Identify the appropriate group name and search branch to search for sponsors:
1. Navigate to System > Settings > Authentication > LDAP
2. Click on the desired directory and click Modify
3. Click Search Branches
4. To view the group names imported from the directory, click Select groups

Configure the auto-fill function:
1. Navigate to System > Portal Configuration
2. Under Content editor, expand Registration > Self Registration Login
3. In the Sponsor LDAP Group field, enter the group name and search branch.
Required Format: CN=<group name>,OU=<organizational unit>,DC=<2nd level domain name>,DC=<1st level domain name>


Example:
CN=Employees,OU=MainBldg,DC=example,DC=com 

1) User types “Hof” in the portal
2) NAC searches to see if Hof* is a memberOf CN=<Employees>
3) Portal Returns a drop down of possible sponsors matching the first three character “Hof” for First name, Last name or Email
