Technical Note: Validate new LDAP directory configuration

Description

This article provides basic tests to verify a newly added LDAP directory can successfully communicate with the appliance.   

Solution
1. Validate credentials. 

a. Navigate to System > Settings > Authentication > LDAP.
b. In the Directory model of the new LDAP server, click Validate Credentials.

If credentials fail, refer to related KB article below.

2. Verify user records and groups can be searched based upon the Search Branches configured.  This is done using the Preview button found in the LDAP view. For instructions refer to section Preview of the Administration Guide:
